Daisy Carter Walker (1929 – 2025)

Daisy Carter Walker, 96, of Linden, Virginia, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, in the home of her son in Linden.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with State Patriarch Randall Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal.

Mrs. Walker was born August 5, 1929, at home in Fauquier County, daughter of the late Vanderbilt Cornelius Carter and Eliza Jane Butler Carter.  She was the last of her immediate family and was married to the late Alonzo “Bud” Walker.

Surviving are a son, Jerry Walker, and wife Ellen of Linden; three daughters, Joni Van Doren of Linden, Charmaine Walker-Lott of Luneburg, Germany, and Jodie Tammy Wells of Dumfries; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Lisa Walker and Terry Pelter; son, Rickey Price Walker; and two sons-in-law, Danny Van Doren and Carl Lott.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 7, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local Humane Society.
