Mary Ruth Craps

A celebration of life for Ruth will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Dynamic Life Praise and Worship Center, 1600 John Marshall Hwy, Front Royal, VA 22630. The following day she will be interred in Quantico National Cemetery.

Mary was born on November 12, 1923, in Dallas, Texas, to the late James George and Mary Elizabeth Lybarger Craps.

Surviving Mary is her devoted niece, Cheryl Leigh Faw Crabbe of Front Royal; her nephew, Bruce “Bob” Faw of Laguna Woods, California; her niece, Debbie Cole of Gardnerville, Nevada; her niece, Melanie Sawyer of Yuma, Arizona; and numerous extended family and friends.

Mary was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served from August 3, 1944, to December 3, 1957. She was a Petty Officer First Class, a Meteorologist with the Navy, and an Aerographers Mate First Class. She then worked with Braniff Airlines, Continental Airlines, and Frontier Airlines before moving to Hendersonville, Tennessee, where she sang in the TBN choir and worked as a phone operator.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice or to Dynamic Life Praise & Worship Center.
