David Silek Launches Campaign for Chairman of Warren County GOP: “Common-Sense Conservative Leadership”

Longtime local attorney and conservative activist David Silek has announced his candidacy for Chairman of the Warren County Republican Committee, promising to restore focus, integrity, and effectiveness to the local GOP.

David Silek, candidate for Chairman of the Warren County Republican Committee, speaks about his vision for grassroots unity and local conservative leadership.

“I’m a conservative with common-sense principles with a bit of a libertarian streak,” Silek said. “I believe in limited government, personal responsibility, and keeping local politics local. Warren County Republicans deserve leadership that focuses on our community, not recycled national rhetoric”.

Silek, who first volunteered with the Warren County Republican Committee as a high school student in 1986, is a practicing trial attorney, former Chairman of the Front Royal Board of Architectural Review, and former Chairman of the United Way of Front Royal–Warren County. His campaign centers on strengthening grassroots operations, improving election support, and unifying local conservatives under a shared mission.

“Warren County doesn’t need national talking points—we need local common-sense conservative solutions,” he said.

In outlining his vision, Silek pointed to what he sees as recent missteps by the current committee. “The committee has… left polling places unattended on Election Day—a betrayal of every candidate who put their name on the ballot,” he said. “It’s time to get back to basics”.

His platform prioritizes rebuilding trust and participation across all five magisterial districts. “Ensure every polling place is staffed on Election Day—no exceptions,” Silek stated. He also pledged to “support all Republican candidates equally, not just those the leadership personally favors” and to “rebuild precinct-level organization” across the county.

Silek also emphasized education and public services as key concerns. “Support our public library as a vital community resource. Banning books and shuttering the library do not promote the common good,” he said. “Ensure graduates leave with inquiring, discerning hearts and minds prepared for careers and citizenship”.

On public safety and substance abuse, he noted: “Address mental health and substance abuse head-on—not just talk about it”.

Silek’s platform also underscores his support for Warren County’s paper ballot voting system. “Maintain confidence in our existing paper ballot system,” he said. “Focus party energy on voter outreach and turnout rather than unfounded election concerns”.

Looking ahead to the committee’s leadership election, Silek is asking local Republicans to join him in restoring credibility and effectiveness to the organization. “This race is about Warren County’s future. Our real challenges are education, public safety, mental health, substance abuse, and economic opportunity,” he said. “But before we can address those issues effectively, we need a party that remembers how to organize grassroots support for every Republican candidate. That’s where I’ll start”.

The election will take place at the WCRC Mass Meeting on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Front Royal Fire Department, located at 221 N. Commerce Avenue. Registration opens at 6:00 p.m.

“All legal and qualified voters of Warren County… who express in open meeting… their intent to support all [Republican] nominees… may participate” in the vote.
