Deborah Lucas Seekford (1956 – 2026)

Deborah Lucas Seekford, 69, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, at 4:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Inurnment will be private.

Deborah was born August 12, 1956, in Front Royal, Virginia, the daughter of the late William David and Juanita Kerns Lucas.

Most recently, she worked as the coordinator for the Front Royal Visitors Center.

Debbie was an avid equestrian. Her love for horses began at a very young age when her grandfather bought her a pony named Sugar. Debbie shared this love of horses with her daughter and granddaughters, as well as her lifelong friend, Anita Richard.  Together, she and Anita went on many adventures.

Surviving is her devoted husband of 45 years, David Seekford; one daughter, Christi H. Heflin and husband Raymond of Front Royal; two granddaughters, Olivia Heflin (Austin Dunlap) and Madeilyn Lynch and husband Taylor; and a very special lifelong friend, Anita Richard.

She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 23, at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Warren Volunteer Fire Department, 266 Rockland Rd, Front Royal, Virginia 22630.
