The Dominion Ridge Academy (DRA) archery team celebrated a successful outing at the Turkey Shoot Tournament this past Saturday, October 26. With several newcomers to tournament competition, the DRA team displayed impressive skills and tenacity, proudly bringing home 11 medals across various categories.

One standout performance came from 7th-grader Avery Philpot, who delivered an exceptional score of 280 out of 300 points, maintaining the lead in the girls’ division for most of the day. Avery was edged out by a single point in the final round in a nail-biting finish, yet still secured an impressive second-place finish overall, second in middle school girls, and first in 7th-grade girls. Avery’s performance marked a career-high and a memorable achievement in her young archery career.
