Eleanor Showers Chadwell, 86, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Commonwealth Senior Living.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Front Royal United Methodist Church with Pastor Rachel Plemmons and Reverend Dee Penley officiating. A time of visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Following all services, the burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Eleanor was born on October 7, 1939, in Fauquier County, Virginia, to the late Thomas Henry and Stella Mauch Showers. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Hilbert Eugene Chadwell.

Surviving Eleanor are her loving children, Gena Swisher (Bryan) of Belle Haven, Virginia, and Michael E. Chadwell (Robin) of Bentonville, Virginia; her sister, Evelyn Ricci; and her grandchildren, Philip E. Chadwell, Robert M. Chadwell, and Lesley H. Swisher.

Eleanor was a member of the Front Royal United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed quilting in her spare time with the ladies of the church.
