Fall Fundraiser ‘Dinner in the Vines’ for Front Royal Women’s Resource Center

on

The Front Royal Women’s Resource Center (FRWRC) is hosting a special fall fundraiser at Chester Gap Cellars on October 4th, 2024. Titled “Dinner in the Vines,” this event promises a rustic, unique dining experience for the local community. It will feature a four-course meal by Red Light Culinary paired with wines from Chester Gap Cellars.

Liz Coffey, Executive Director of FRWRC, and board member Liz Rishel shared details about this exciting evening during an interview. The event will kick off with a wine tasting followed by appetizers, and then guests will either be transported down the mountain via ATV or can opt for a scenic hike to the dinner location. The evening’s main course features braised short ribs with roasted vegetables and polenta, while the dessert—a trio of autumn truffles—is provided by Kat’s Creations.

“We want to make it a truly unique experience,” said Coffey, noting that the event will also have an elegant feel, with tables and seating set up under the open sky. “It’s about the ambiance and creating something memorable for the community while raising funds for an important cause.”

Tickets for the event are $150 per person, and proceeds support the work of the Front Royal Women’s Resource Center, which focuses on providing empowerment programs and networking opportunities for women in Warren County. The FRWRC has several sponsorship opportunities, including levels like the “barrel” and “bottle” sponsor tiers. Interested sponsors or those wishing to learn more can visit FRWRC’s website.

Empowerment Through Community Involvement

The FRWRC is known for its community-driven initiatives, including the signature Dare to Dream grant. It supports women in Warren County in starting new businesses or working towards educational goals. Coffey, herself a past recipient, credited the Dare to Dream grant as instrumental in her own success. “Without that grant, I wouldn’t have been able to start my business. It helped me buy the generator I use every weekend,” she said.

The application process for the Dare to Dream program will open on October 15th and continue through the end of the year. This grant is just one example of how FRWRC aims to support and uplift women in the community.

Promote the Vote at the Festival of Leaves

In addition to their fall fundraiser, the FRWRC is also involved in community events, including the upcoming Festival of Leaves on October 12th. The organization will have a booth on Main Street to promote voter registration and provide information about the voting process. Trained volunteers will be on hand to assist people with registration forms, ensuring that everyone in Warren County has the opportunity to get involved in the upcoming elections.

Supporting the Community One Event at a Time

The FRWRC’s fall dinner event is not only about raising money but also about fostering connections. Coffey emphasized that FRWRC’s mission is to empower the whole community by bringing together people from all walks of life. “When you bring programs and events to the women of Front Royal, you bring it to the whole community because it benefits everyone,” she said.

The event is open to all, and men are welcome to join the festivities. As Rishel humorously put it, “Equal opportunity for all—we’re letting the men come to this one!”

Tickets and Sponsorship Opportunities

Tickets for the Dinner in the Vines event are now on sale at $150 each, and they can be purchased through the FRWRC website. Sponsorship opportunities are also still available for those who want to help support the organization. In particular, the FRWRC is grateful for its current sponsors, including Ellen Aders and Amanda Slate, who have a longstanding commitment to community service.

Visit the Front Royal Women’s Resource Center’s website to learn more about the Dinner in the Vines event and other programs like Dare to Dream. Whether you attend the event, donate, or simply help spread the word, every bit of support helps empower the women and, by extension, the whole community of Front Royal.
