Fork District Board Seat Vacant; Warren County Seeks Applicants by Oct. 3rd

The Warren County Board of Supervisors has announced a vacancy for the Fork District seat and is accepting applications from eligible residents to serve the remainder of the current term through December 31, 2025.

Who can apply:
Applicants must reside in the Fork District and meet all legal eligibility requirements. A completed application and any supporting documentation must be submitted online at https://warrencountyva.gov/273/Citizen-Appointments or in person at the County Administrator’s Office.

Application window:
Applications open Wednesday, September 17, 2025, and are due by Friday, October 3, 2025.

How the process works:

  • The General Registrar will verify eligibility as applications arrive.
  • All eligible applications will be compiled and sent to the Board for review.
  • Tuesday, October 7, 2025: The Board will announce the names of applicants under consideration and make available resumes and supporting materials (per Va. Code § 24.2-228).
  • Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.: A special meeting of the Board will be held to vote on the interim appointment.
  • If no appointment is made within the required 45-day timeframe, the circuit court judge may make the appointment.

Residents interested in serving are encouraged to review the application instructions and submit materials early to allow time for eligibility validation.
