Front Royal Rotary Celebrates Financial Successes With Annual Gala

Published

The Rotary Club of Front Royal packed the dining room and dance floor of the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club last weekend for its annual gala, raising an estimated $15,000 for its long list of local and other charities.

It was an “astounding success” according to club President Ken Evans, forecasting that more than halfway through his presidential tenure the Front Royal Rotary will surpass last year in fundraising – $142,854 – in addition to an increase in club membership and his focus on youth – “our future” – through sponsorship of youth activities such as education and sports.

Evans identified the following sponsors of the gala night (Feb. 24) “without whom none of this would be possible”:

Skyline Medical Practice, Auto Care Clinic, The Apple House, Katie Brinson, On Cue, Christine Binnix, Michelle Napier, Holly Rhodenhizer, Angie Moore, Sam Snead, Red Light Culinary, Dusty’s Country Store, Shenandoah Ax Throwing, and Hike Construction.

“Our community has so many needs and our club has unlimited opportunities to make a difference in the community we live in,” Evans said.

As for the annual gala, Rotarians Katie Tewell, Amber Mitchell, and Kym Crump dreamed up a wedding party theme for the gala, pronouncing Evans and wife Donna to slice the “wedding” cake, so each of the multitude could access a slice. Let’s have some fun!!!

The happy couple was the center of attention – It almost seems like we’ve done this before, but watch that sweeping off your feet thing. Let’s cut the cake, that’ll be fun! Careful …

The wedding present table, and cake beyond – well, it’s not a real wedding, there’s enough to go around …
