Gary Richard Burke Sr. (1953 – 2026)

Gary Richard Burke Sr., 73, of Bentonville, Virginia, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 2 PM at Panorama Memorial Gardens, 4917 Strasburg Road, Strasburg, with Sammy Campbell officiating.

Mr. Burke was born on April 22, 1953, in Woodstock, Virginia, to the late Vincent and Arbutus Donovan Burke.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Kevin Wayne Burke; brother, Kenneth Burke; and sister, Bonnie Cain.  He owned and operated Gary Burke Home Improvements and was a Class A Contractor, working for many years throughout the Front Royal area.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Donna Kay Burke; two sons, Gary “Richard” Burke Jr. (Carrie) and Daniel Wayne Burke; daughter, Amy Day (Jeremy); brother, Vincent Burke Jr. (Denise); seven grandchildren, Dakota Burke, Hunter Burke, Ryan Burke, Grace Burke, Mya Day, Ava Burke and Kaylee Burke and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Joey Burke, Mike Henry, Dale Sealock, Chad Costello, Chris Loughry, and Larry Fox.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal.
