Jane “Janie” Wine (née Brown) (1945 – 2024)

Jane “Janie” Wine (née Brown), aged 79, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024 in Winchester, Virginia.

Born on April 16, 1945, Janie was known for her caring nature and independent spirit. She cherished being around people, which is evident through her 19 years of dedicated service at the Elks Club, where she worked and nurtured many lasting friendships.

Janie graduated from Stafford High School and carried the values of community and service throughout her life. She attended Lord Fairfax Community College and received a degree in Computer Science. She was the secretary for the B.P.O.E Lodge # 2382.

She is survived by her loving son, Robert L. Wine; grandchildren Reba Rhoades and her husband David and Christian Wine and his wife Lainey; brother Warren Brown and his wife Betty; a niece; a great-nephew; and a great-great-nephew; as well as many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Brown, Sr. and Pauline Tice Brown; a daughter, Beth Ann Wine; a daughter-in-law, Deb Pastelnick Wine; her niece, Melissa Brown; and a brother, Robert Brown.

The family will gather to honor Janie’s life at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal, VA, with a visitation on July 27, 2024, from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by a service at 2 p.m.
