On-the-job training opportunity for Local Businesses!

If you are an Employer who’s been searching for ways to reduce the high cost of training in today’s complex workplace, we are here to help you!

Valley OJT, an initiative of the Shenandoah Valley Workforce Development Board, assists businesses in developing strategic solutions for accessing and hiring qualified workers. We understand the wide range of challenges facing employers as they strive to compete and excel in today’s marketplace of ideas and products. Our On-The-Job Training program is specifically designed to offset an employer’s new hire training costs. Through monthly reimbursement of training funds, eligible businesses receive on average between $4,000 and $6,000 per hire while training new employees. Our expert staff develops each training program unique to the employer and new employee, adapting and flexing for maximum employer benefit and cost effectiveness.

Valley OJT also received a $4 million American Apprenticeship Initiative Grant in 2015 to expand Advanced Manufacturing Registered Apprenticeships in Virginia. The grant helps offset the cost of the related technical instruction for new Registered Apprentices.
Some examples of companies we have partnered with on the Registered Apprenticeship Grant include:

  • The Hershey Company
  • Thermo Fisher Scientific
  • Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc.
  • Andros Foods North America

And many others!
If either of these programs sounds like something your business could use to improve your bottom line, please contact one of our representatives:
