July 24 public hearing scheduled on expanded flea market operations
The Town of Front Royal is considering expanding the days of operation of Flea Markets to include Fridays. Currently, Flea Markets may operate only on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The proposal was brought forward by the owners of Andrick’s Flea Market on Commerce Avenue. Present for her father Larry Andrick at a July 3 Town Council Work Session was Linda Henry, Andrick’s daughter.

The Town Planning Commission recommended approval of an amendment to Town Codes to allow the additional day by Special Use Permit. Parameters of the operation of flea markets would remain essentially the same, with special conditions authorized as described in each Special Use Permit issued for flea market operation.
Council set a public hearing on the request for its July 24 meeting; though late information indicates that date may be set back.
Andrick’s has also expressed interest in adding a Farmer’s Market to its operation. Town staff noted that no code changes would be necessary to allow the flea market to apply for the addition of a Farmer’s Market.
