The public is invited to come watch more than 100 competitors twist and turn their way to glory in the third annual World Cube Association Rally in the Valley, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 27, in the Corron Community Development Center on LFCC’s Middletown Campus. The competitions will continue till 5:30 p.m.

The LFCC Cyber Club is sponsoring the event, which will include players from five different countries, competing in a variety of different categories of twisty puzzles, such as the Rubik’s Cube, as well as 3x3x3 cubes, 7x7x7 cubes, 2x2x2 cubes, pyraminxes and megaminxes.

A world speed record was set at the competition in 2017. LFCC computer lab assistant Will Callan, who will compete in the Rubik’s Cube National Tournament later this summer in Baltimore, is helping to organize the Rally in the Valley. He was responsible for bringing it here two years ago, and is the grandson of LFCC Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs Karen Kellison.

The Subway in the Student Union Building will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for those needing a meal or snack.
