Mindful Monday: Fun activities for the kids this summer
School is out for the summer! Consider these fun activities for children to encourage awareness in many ways including nature, healthy eating, and kindness.
1. Take time to enjoy a sunset or sunrise. Talk about the beautiful colors in the sky and the peaceful calm that happens during this time of day. Recognize how each time is different!
2. Draw a pretty picture of nature to share with the elderly. For those who can’t get out and enjoy nature, bring nature to them! There are several assisted living facilities in the area that would welcome your art.
3. Visit our local farmer’s market. Buy fresh produce and prepare a healthy recipe.

4. Spend time at the playground. Include picking up litter and discuss the importance of keeping the Earth clean.
5. Look for fish and other creatures who live in the river. Andy Guest – Shenandoah River State Park is a perfect place to spend a day. How many fish can you see?
