NAACP Warren-Page Branch Announces Fall Meetings and November Election

Published

on

The NAACP Warren-Page Branch 7125B has announced a series of membership meetings this fall leading up to the election of branch officers and at-large members of the Executive Committee in November.

The first meeting will be held on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at 3 p.m. at the Samuels Public Library, 330 E. Criser Road, in Front Royal.

During that meeting, members will elect a Nominating Committee consisting of between five and 15 members. To be eligible for election to the committee, a member’s NAACP membership must be current at least 30 days before the meeting date. No more than two members of the Nominating Committee may be officers of the branch.

A second general membership meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, at 3 p.m., also at Samuels Public Library.

At that meeting, the Nominating Committee will present its report, nominations by petition will be received, and members will elect an Election Supervisory Committee.

To be nominated for branch office or as an at-large member of the Executive Committee, a member must have been current as of April 1 of the election year, maintained continuous membership throughout the election process, and live or work within the branch’s jurisdiction.

Members who wish to sign a nominating petition or serve on the Election Supervisory Committee must have their membership current at least 30 days before the October meeting.

The election of officers and at-large Executive Committee members will take place Nov. 7, 2026, using an electronic voting platform.

Voting will be open from noon to 4 p.m.

To vote in the branch election, members must be in good standing at least 30 days before Election Day.

If a runoff election is required, it will be held within 10 days of the original election through the electronic voting platform and will remain open for at least one hour.

The NAACP Warren-Page Branch is encouraging eligible members to participate in the meetings, nomination process, and election.
