Robert Deibler Washbourne Jr., 84, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away at Winchester Medical Center on Friday, September 6, 2024.
A memorial service will be held for Robert at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Rivermont Baptist Church, 575 Catlett Mountain Rd, Front Royal, with Pastor Justin Dove officiating. A visitation will take place one hour before the church service.
Robert was born in Virginia on November 27, 1939, to the late Robert D. Washbourne Sr. and Alice Virginia Smith Washbourne. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Marcia Washbourne Sealock, and his granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Brown.
Robert’s survivors are his loving wife of 55 years, Shelva Washbourne; his children, Jeffrey Washbourne, Troy Washbourne, and Kimberly Washbourne; his stepdaughters, Rhonda Hill, Tammy Brown, and Sherry Ritenour; his ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Robert retired after working for the railroad as a welder for many years. In his retirement, he enjoyed playing a lot of golf.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rivermont Baptist Church.
