VDOT: Warren County Traffic Alert for November 10 – 14, 2025

The following is a list of highway work that may impact traffic in Warren County during the upcoming weeks. Scheduled work is subject to change due to inclement weather and material supply issues. Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving tractors during mowing operations. When traveling through a work zone, be alert to periodic changes in traffic patterns and lane closures.

INTERSTATE 66

Mile marker 2 to 0, westbound – Shoulder closures for road work related to I-81 southbound widening, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Jan. 9.

*NEW* Mile marker 8 to 4, westbound – Right shoulder closure for shoulder repairs, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Mile marker 10 to 12, eastbound – Alternating lane closures for bridge maintenance, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday.

INTERSTATE 81

*UPDATE* Mile marker 299 to 300, northbound and southbound – Slow-roll traffic control for controlled blasting operations between 10 a.m. and 12 noon, Wednesday. Overnight single-lane closures southbound, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. through Jan. 9. Northbound and southbound shoulder closures 24/7. Shoulder closures 24/7. Traffic restrictions are related to I-81 widening project.

PRIMARY ROADS

*NEW* Route 340/522 (Winchester Road) – Northbound and southbound right lane closures between Route 637 (Guard Hill Road) and Riverton Road for inspection of bridge over Crooked Run, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday.

SECONDARY ROADS

No lane closures reported.

Vegetation management may take place district-wide on various routes. VDOT reminds motorists to use extreme caution when traveling through work zones.
