The Virginia State Police reported recovering illegal drugs with an estimated street value of nearly $1 million during statewide crime suppression operations conducted between Aug. 5 and Aug. 11.

According to the agency’s weekly enforcement report, troopers and partnering federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies seized narcotics with an estimated criminal revenue of $964,129 while conducting investigations across the Commonwealth.

The operations also resulted in the recovery of two firearms, valued at approximately $1,000, as part of criminal drug investigations. Investigators also seized $20,168 in U.S. currency.

Among the drugs recovered during the reporting period were:

  • 2.1 pounds of cocaine
  • 28.5 pounds of marijuana
  • 1.3 pounds of methamphetamine
  • 25 pounds of THC consumable products
  • 14.1 ounces of fentanyl
  • 1.1 pounds of psilocybin
  • 2 pounds of ketamine

The reported totals include seizures made by the Virginia State Police, State Police task forces, federal task forces, and investigations in which the agency assisted.

The Virginia State Police said the weekly operations are part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and violent crime throughout the Commonwealth.

In a statement, the agency said it remains committed to enhancing public safety by working closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to disrupt criminal organizations and remove illegal drugs and weapons from Virginia communities.

The report is part of the Virginia State Police’s weekly summary of enforcement activity across the state.
