Warren County EDA member resigns

FRONT ROYAL – The Warren County Economic Development Authority announced Thursday that it’s losing one of its newest members.

Brendan Arbuckle, Senior Operations Director at Toray Plastics America and an EDA Board of Director, has tendered his resignation to the EDA to take a new position with a Pennsylvania company.

Arbuckle was appointed in February 2017 to fill the vacancy on the EDA Board left by William Sealock, who resigned after being elected to Town Council in November 2016.

“We are certainly sad to see Mr. Arbuckle leave our community,” said Doug Stanley, Warren County Administrator. “I have enjoyed working with him in his official capacity as Senior Operations Director for Toray and over the past few months in his service in the EDA Board of Directors.  As a resident of Warren County, he took the time to get involved in our community including coaching youth soccer with FRSA.  We wish him well in his new position.”

“Mr. Arbuckle’s tenure on the EDA board was brief, however he had immediately proven himself as a valued board member. His common sense insights regarding the many issues of the EDA will be missed and we all wish him well as he moves on,” said Greg Drescher, Chairman of the EDA Board of Directors.

On August 16, the panel named Alexander Gray Blanton–a Front Royal pharmacist–to the EDA board to fill a vacancy created by the death of longtime chairwoman Patricia S. Wines.

Deputy Clerk Emily Mounce previously said that the county received seven applications for that vacancy.   For unspecified reasons, the supervisors failed to interview the candidates before selecting Blanton.
