Warren County Seeks Volunteers for Library Board and Other Key Roles

Published

on

The Warren County Board of Supervisors is seeking dedicated residents to join the Warren County Library Board, an essential group that oversees library services throughout the county. Library Board members represent the community, serve as liaisons with vendors and county officials, and play a critical role in shaping the future of the public library system.

Ideal candidates should be enthusiastic about library services, possess community leadership experience, and have business, finance, or law skills. Board members will attend meetings, address community concerns, and stay informed about local and state policies affecting libraries. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education, literacy, and access to resources to make a meaningful impact in their community.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

In addition to the Library Board, Warren County is seeking residents to fill a variety of other important roles across several boards and committees:

  • Warren County Social Services Advisory Board (North River District): This board advocates for vulnerable and at-risk community members and supports the Department of Social Services’ mission to help individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency.
  • Warren County Tourism Committee: This committee advises the Board of Supervisors on initiatives to attract visitors and promote the “Experience Warren County” brand.
  • Economic Development Authority (EDA) – Two Vacancies: Encourages local economic growth, supports business development, and fosters arts, culture, and recreational initiatives to enhance the county’s quality of life.
  • Board of Zoning Appeals (Shenandoah District and Fork District): Reviews variance requests and appeals related to the Zoning Ordinance.
  • Front Royal/Warren County Joint Tow Board: Seeks a citizen representative to assist in managing towing regulations and services.
  • Shenandoah Farms Sanitary District Advisory Committee—One Vacancy: This committee is open to property owners in the Shenandoah Farms Sanitary District to advise on district matters.
  • Family Assessment and Planning Team—Parent Representative: This position supports the decision-making processes for families in need of behavioral health services and other resources.
  • Small Business Loan Committee: Manages the county’s USDA loan program and evaluates loan applications to foster economic development.
  • Northwestern Community Services Board: This board provides oversight for behavioral health services, including those addressing mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse.

Why Serve?

Volunteering for these boards is a chance to give back to the community, advocate for local needs, and influence the direction of vital county services. Whether your passion is for education, economic development, or community support, these roles offer an opportunity to make a real difference in Warren County.

How to Apply

Residents interested in joining the Library Board or any other committee can complete the application form on the county’s website. With numerous opportunities to get involved, now is the perfect time to lend your voice and skills to Warren County’s future.
