WCHS DECA Excels at Virginia DECA State Leadership Conference
From February 28 to March 2, 2025, 43 members of the Warren County High School (WCHS) DECA chapter proudly represented their school at the Virginia DECA State Leadership Conference (SLC) in Virginia Beach. Competing across a range of events in project management, marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship, students showcased their critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership skills in high-level business simulations and presentations.

Forty-three WCHS DECA students attended and competed at the VA DECA State Leadership Conference
WCHS students achieved exceptional results, with several earning top honors:

Alexa Bradley and Allie Musil – 1st Place, School-Based Enterprise–Food Operations (DECA Tailgaters)

Kaylee Presgraves and Nathan Greenwell – 1st Place, Project Management Financial Literacy (Wild Bobcat Movie Theater)

Anna Kozhenevsky – Finalist, Sports Marketing Team Decision Making – Written Test
In addition, four WCHS DECA members participated in the Leadership Development Academy, further enhancing their professional and leadership skills.
WCHS DECA also earned national recognition, with all three school-based enterprises—DECA Tailgaters, Wildcats LIVE!, and Wildcats Den—achieving Gold Certification from DECA, a significant honor that reflects excellence in retail operations and business planning.
Other noteworthy accomplishments include:
- Ava Powell – 12th Place, Integrated Marketing Plan, for her project “Behind the Badge”, a campaign supporting the Warren County Sheriff’s Department
- Lauren Foltz and Anna Kozhenevsky – 14th Place, Sports Marketing Team Decision Making
- Bre Taylor, Emii Gibbons, and Shannon McIntyre – 15th Place, Project Management Sales Project, “Buns & Business”
Thanks to their outstanding performance, 13 WCHS DECA members have qualified to attend the prestigious DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, FL, from April 26 to 30, 2025.
WCHS DECA celebrates the dedication and hard work of its students. Their success at the state level highlights their business acumen and commitment to leadership, innovation, and real-world application of marketing and entrepreneurship principles.
