Women’s Wellness Workshop to Feature Inspirational Speaker on Chronic Illness Recovery
The Front Royal Women’s Resource Center invites the community to its Annual Women’s Wellness Workshop on Thursday, March 6, at 5:30 p.m. at Samuels Public Library. This year’s featured speaker, Lauren Canady, will share her remarkable journey of survival and resilience in a talk titled “Recovery in Chronic Illness.”

Lauren and her beloved therapy dog Nosie are conquering mountains
A resident of Luray, Canady, will discuss her experience overcoming sudden cardiac arrest and epilepsy, the role of the Four Pillars of Health in recovery, and insights from her memoir, Independence Ave. Her story is one of survival against incredible odds—on February 7, 2023, at the age of 38, she endured 24 minutes without a heartbeat and a two-day coma.
Canady credits her survival to her husband, Chris, the swift actions of Luray and Page County first responders, dedicated healthcare professionals, and the supportive community that rallied around her. She now advocates for those living with chronic illnesses, offering hope and guidance through her writing and public speaking.
The event is open to both women and men, and attendees are encouraged to join for what promises to be a powerful and inspiring presentation.
