Yemini 16th Century Torah scroll on display in Front Royal

FRONT ROYAL –The Riverton United Methodist Church (RUMC), in conjunction with the Christian organization Ratio Christi, has arranged for a 16th Century Torah Scroll from Yemen to  be on loan to the church for public display for 10 days in Front Royal.

The Torah Scroll is 79 feet long, and is “complete,” Which means that it contains all five books of the Torah in their entirety. The Torah will be on display several times through Friday, Nov. 17:

  • Wednesday, November 8th, at 7:15 pm at Boggs Chapel on the Randolph-Macon Academy campus (200 Academy Drive, Front Royal).
  • Thursday, November 9th, 8:00 am – 11:10 am at Boggs Chapel on the Randolph-Macon Academy campus. Presentations will be offered at 8:00 a.m., 9:05 a.m., and 10:10 a.m.
  • Sunday, November 12th from 8:30 a.m. to noon at RUMC (55 East Strasburg Road)
  • Wednesday, November 15th, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at RUMC
  • Friday, November 17th, 6-8 p.m. at Open House: Meet in the Middle, the headquarters of What Matters W2, located at 213 E Main Street, Front Royal.

The presentations and viewings are free and open to the general public.  All are welcome.
