Front Royal Cardinals to Honor Baseball Legend Jeff Manto with Hall of Fame Induction
On July 11, 2024, the Front Royal Cardinals will honor Jeff Manto by inducting him into the Front Royal Cardinals Hall of Fame. This special ceremony celebrates Manto’s remarkable baseball career, which has left an indelible mark on the team and the sport.

Jeff Manto’s baseball journey began at Temple University, where he played under the renowned coach Skip Wilson from 1983 to 1985. Manto’s talents quickly became evident, and in 1984, he brought his skills to the Front Royal Cardinals. His impressive performance with the team caught the attention of professional scouts, and in 1985, he was drafted in the 14th round of the MLB draft by the California Angels.
Throughout his 16-year professional career, Manto played as a first and third baseman, showcasing his versatility and dedication. He was a valuable member of three World Series teams: the 1993 Philadelphia Phillies, the 1997 Cleveland Indians, and the 1999 New York Yankees. His contributions to these teams were significant, helping to propel them to the pinnacle of baseball success.
Manto’s achievements extend beyond his time in Major League Baseball. He was a two-time Minor League MVP, a testament to his exceptional performance and consistency. Additionally, he holds a remarkable record in the American League. In 1995, while playing for the Baltimore Orioles, Manto tied the MLB record for home runs in consecutive at-bats. Over the course of three games, he hit four straight home runs, then added a fifth in the same stretch, equaling a record set in 1961.
Today, Jeff Manto resides in Bristol, Pennsylvania, with his wife Denise. They have three children who have followed in their father’s footsteps of excellence. Their daughter, Dr. Gabrielle Manto, is a shining example of academic achievement. Andreana Manto, a BSN, RN, demonstrates dedication to the healthcare field. Their son, Jeffrey Manto, continues the family’s baseball legacy as a member of the Trenton Thunder.
