Local Enthusiast Revs Up Community Spirit with LEGO User Group

Published

on

Lewis Moten, known in the community for cruising around town in his iconic little red electric car, is steering his passion for creativity and community engagement in a new direction by establishing a LEGO User Group in Front Royal. This group, aiming to bring together LEGO enthusiasts of all ages, is a testament to Moten’s dedication to fostering a space for collaboration, creativity, and shared interest in the timeless appeal of LEGO.

The LEGO User Group, set to have its first meeting at the end of March, is not just for kids. Adults, who have grown up with and can now afford these intricate building sets, are finding renewed interest in LEGO. Moten emphasizes that the group is about more than just playing with LEGO; it’s a way to unplug, focus on being creative, and enjoy the tactile satisfaction of constructing something unique from these iconic bricks.

The initiative for the group came from Moten’s desire to create a local community of LEGO enthusiasts, reducing the need for long travels to cities like Richmond for similar experiences. The Samuels Public Library in Front Royal will host the group’s gatherings, offering a space for members to share ideas, work on projects, and potentially plan public displays that showcase the creativity and technical skill involved in LEGO building.

This initiative highlights the versatility of LEGO as a hobby that transcends generations, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose among its enthusiasts. The Front Royal LEGO User Group invites anyone with a passion for LEGO, regardless of age, to join their inaugural meeting on the last Saturday of March, promising a journey of creativity, collaboration, and construction that celebrates the joy of building.
