on

On Tuesday, October 1st, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Laurel Ridge Community College will host the 4th annual Junior/Senior Planning Night at the Corron Community Center at 173 Skirmisher Lane in Middletown. This free event is open to all rising juniors and seniors in the Shenandoah Valley, offering them and their families an invaluable opportunity to explore various post-secondary pathways.

Designed to help students plan for life after high school, Junior/Senior Planning Night will provide a comprehensive look at their options. Whether they are considering college, entering the workforce, joining the armed forces, or exploring public safety careers, this event is a must-attend for anyone looking to make informed decisions about their future.

What to Expect

Participants can expect a wide range of resources and activities throughout the evening. Checklists tailored for junior and senior years will help students stay on track as they navigate the final stages of high school. Laurel Ridge Community College will also offer an on-site FAFSA ID workshop, guiding students and their families through the essential steps needed to secure financial aid for college.

Understanding the college application process can be daunting, but this event will break it down into manageable steps. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about the differences between scholarships and grants, ensuring they clearly understand how to finance their education.

One of the key highlights of the evening is the chance to meet college representatives from across the region. These reps will be on hand to answer questions, provide information about their institutions, and help students find the right fit for their academic goals.

The event will offer information on workforce opportunities and internships for those interested in entering the workforce immediately after high school. Additionally, students can explore careers in the armed forces and public safety, with experts available to discuss these options in detail.

The night will conclude with a Q&A session, where attendees can ask any remaining questions and gain further clarity on the topics covered.

Don’t Miss Out!

In addition to all the valuable information and guidance available, attendees will also enjoy a free dinner, making it a convenient and enjoyable evening for the whole family.

Registration for the 2024 Junior/Senior Planning Night is required and will close on Friday, September 27th. Those interested in attending can register online at Reaching Out Now.

This event is an excellent opportunity for students and their families to start planning for the future, whether that future involves college, a career, or service to the country. Don’t miss out on this chance to get a head start on what comes next!
