Edinburg Man Arrested in Online Child Exploitation Investigation

Published

on

Front Royal Police, working alongside the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Guy Leon Louderback III of Edinburg, Virginia, on February 10, 2025, after a two-month investigation into online child exploitation. The investigation began in December 2024 when a complaint was filed with the Front Royal Police Department about an adult engaging in inappropriate online conversations with someone believed to be under 15 years old.

GUY LOUDERBACK

Detectives launched an undercover operation, posing as a juvenile female to communicate with the suspect online. During these interactions, the suspect attempted to hide his identity, but detectives were able to identify Louderback as the individual behind the messages.

After gathering enough evidence, authorities obtained search and arrest warrants, which were executed on February 10 at Louderback’s residence in Edinburg. He was taken into custody and transported to RSW Regional Jail, where he is being held without bail while awaiting court proceedings.

Louderback faces multiple charges, including seven counts of using a communications system to facilitate certain offenses involving children, a serious crime under Virginia law (§18.2-374.3).

The Front Royal Police Department expressed its appreciation to the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office for its support during the operation, particularly highlighting the work of the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team. Both agencies are members of the Northern Virginia/D.C. Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which focuses on combating child exploitation.

This investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with additional information to contact Sergeant M. Gallagher at mgallagher@frontroyalva.com or (540) 636-2208.
