At a very light agenda (Oct. 3) meeting of the Warren County Board of Supervisors (all the action was at the work session), long-time, local activist Joe Swiger was recognized for his service on the Front Royal Golf Club Committee.  Also acknowledged was the county finance department.  Both past and present Finance Directors Carolyn Stimmel and Andre Fletcher were on hand to receive the recognition for the quality of the department’s financial oversight of the county budget.

The Resolution acknowledging Swiger’s service to the County’s municipal golf course noted that Swiger “helped further its efforts to reduce costs and increase revenue in the operations of the Front Royal Golf Club …was an engaged member who took pride in the appearance of the Golf Course, its operations and the staff … was known for his knowledge of the history of the Golf Club, the Shenandoah River (on whose bank it lies), and the County …”

The County Finance Department’s two most recent directors, Carolyn Stimmel (retired, mostly) and Andre Fletcher, are acknowledged for the excellence of the department’s work. Joining Glavis and Stanley in the presentation is Janet Romanchyk. Photo/Jennifer McDonald

As for Stimmel, Fletcher and the finance department – well, they are good with numbers; lots and lots of numbers …
