Betty Darden Pugh (1936 – 2025)

Betty Darden Pugh, 89, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away at Commonwealth Senior Living on Wednesday, April 10, 2025.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Marlow Heights Baptist Church, 517 Braxton Road, Front Royal, with Pastor Jim Bunce officiating.  Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Pugh was born on February 4, 1936, in Franklin, Virginia, to the late Theon Ambrose and Georgie Edwards Darden.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Clayton Pugh Jr.  She was a member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two sons, Thomas Dale Pugh (Cindy) of Belton, Texas and James Clayton Pugh III (Gretchen) of Front Royal, Virginia; two daughters, Patricia Pugh Aadahl (Richard) of Williamsburg, Virginia and Tracy Pugh Delaney (Russell) of Roanoke, Virginia; brother, Theon Ambrose “Tad” Darden of West Point, Virginia; sister, Shirley Darden Bunch of Suffolk, Virginia; eight grandchildren, John Randall Perry, Darren Christopher Pugh, Heather Ashley Shipe (Kyle), Holly Nicole Hoover (Jesse), Hannah Elizabeth Delaney, Richard Cameron “Cam” Aadahl (Jordan), Rachel Delaney Pelletier (Joshua) and Samuel Evans Delaney and five great grandsons, Chase Andrew Perry, Evan Bradley Perry, Blake Randall Perry, Kaysen Arthur Perry and Jaden James Aadahl.

The family will receive friends a half hour before the service at the church.
