Brenda Louise Morgan, 71, of Middletown, Virginia, passed away on September 7, 2026

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Viscusi, and her father, Walter “Sonny” Dawson.

A celebration of life will take place on October 3rd 2026, from 3 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the Front Royal Elks Lodge, 4088 Guard Hill Rd, Front Royal, VA 22630

Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Jesse Morgan. The two shared a love story that we could all one day wish to have. They were inseparable, and their love shone so brightly it leaves a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of witnessing it.

She is also survived by a brother, Donald Viscusi, and her two children, Tammy Carlyle of Middletown.

Virginia and Dennis Carlyle of Culpeper, Virginia. Her grandchildren, Kelly Mills, Josh Mills (Haleigh), Felicia Hamilton, Kurstin Carlyle, and Kassie Carlyle. Her great-grandchildren: Kaylena, Jase, Kamiyah, Kyleah. Bristol, Layana, Levi, Alayah, Jana, Peyton, Leighla, Asher, Nevaeh.

She is also survived by her niece, Tara Comeau, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

And then there are the women who started as friends 55 years ago and somewhere along the way became sisters. They raised their babies together, shared their lives, and were there for each other when needed. Together they were wild and carefree, and their friendship became an inspiration to everyone around them….especially to the ones they raised. Cheers to Beva, Glenna, Donna, and Trisha….the real-life Golden Girls!

Brenda was a retired school bus driver who loved shopping and stockpiling food. Her grandbabies and great-grandbabies could always make her laugh, but she would also get a good laugh at herself when she was being sneaky and ordered things Jesse didn’t know about. Sometimes what Jesse didn’t know was best left that way… lol

She loved to cook for her family and would begin planning holiday meals weeks in advance.

Her all-time favorite movie was Lonesome Dove, and she could happily watch it on replay for months… and she did!

Brenda loved the simple things in life, and country living was her way. Her favorite pastimes included decorating her yard and filling it with flowers. She once raised chickens and had a big ol’ cock named Gus.

She loved camping, classic country and bluegrass music… and good luck getting her off the dance floor. Everyone knew Brenda was in the house when you heard her holler “Yee haw”!

More than anything, Brenda loved her family.

Loving on her grandbabies and great-grandbabies was an all-time high for her. There is not a grandchild she didn’t dance around the kitchen, and not a great-grandchild that didn’t hear the words “come give maw maw a hug” or “hi baby” when she saw them.

She will always be remembered for the big smile that came across her face when someone she loved walked through the door to visit.

Brenda had a gentle way about her, unless provoked. Lord help the person who happened to witness that feisty, fiery redheaded side of her.

Her generosity toward her family knew no bounds. There was nothing she wouldn’t do to make sure her babies had all they needed at any given time.

Brenda was a treasure, a rare jewel, and to know her was to love her. Being loved by her was one of life’s greatest gifts.

She will never be forgotten by those blessed to share her life. She had so much love to give and made sure you felt it in every aspect.

To the ones who loved her… they knew the blessing in her love and will forever remember it and HER!

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jesse Morgan at the celebration of life.
