Casey has a Forever Home, Rockland “Cat Lady” Says Thanks to Royal Examiner
Mary Powers Ryan, who we dubbed the “cat lady” of Rockland in her bid to find a home for a stray who was just one too many for her to handle, advises that a Winchester family saw our article and adopted Casey into his forever home.

Mary was already caring for and feeding six other strays when Casey (she named him a few weeks after he arrived at the door of her Rockland Road home last July) quickly settled in, choosing eventually to be an indoor lap cat after a difference of opinion developed between him and one of the other six strays.
In the weeks that followed, Mary took Casey for shots and to be neutered, then set about trying to find him a home, finally calling on this reporter for help. “They (Casey’s new family) were so happy to greet Casey into his new home, and I am very grateful to them for doing so. They saw the article and made contact with me last week … and I thank you and your newspaper for helping me get the word out.”
