Front Royal man taken into custody regarding felon in possession of a firearm and obstruction of justice

On May 18, 2019, at approximately 11:30pm, the Front Royal Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance in the 1300 block of Edgemont Avenue. When Officers arrived on scene, they encountered several witnesses who advised that a man had entered the home wearing a mask and carrying a handgun.
Based on the information from the witnesses, a suspect was identified as 51-year-old Marcus Lee Lewis of Front Royal. Lewis fled the residence prior to police arrival. Detectives conducted a follow up investigation and warrants were subsequently obtained for Lewis regarding felon in possession of a firearm and obstruction of justice/witness intimidation.
On May 19, 2019, Marcus Lewis was taken into custody without incident at his Brown Avenue residence. Lewis was taken to RSW Regional Jail where he is currently being held without bond. His court date is set for June 18, 2019, at 10:00am, in Warren County General District Court. This investigation is on-going and anyone with further information is asked to contact Detective D. L.
