Geraldine Carol “Gerry” Curtis, 85, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in Commonwealth Senior Living of Front Royal.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Dottie Holden officiating. The family will receive friends at the fellowship hall of Front Royal United Methodist Church following the service.  Private inurnment will take place in Green Hill Cemetery in Stephens City, Virginia.

Gerry was born July 23, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Charles Louis and Mabel Geraldine Geeson Curtis.

She graduated from James Madison University, obtaining her Master’s Degree in education. Gerry was well known throughout the Front Royal and Warren County areas for her teaching and her love of books. Leslie Fox Keyser named their library after her in recognition of her 30 years of dedicated service as a librarian.

Surviving is a brother, Charles L. Curtis, Sr. and wife Nancy Fox Curtis of Chesterfield, Virginia; one nephew, Charles L. Curtis Jr. of Richmond; one niece, Nicole Curtis Berry and husband CT Berry of Midlothian, Virginia; one great-nephew, Logan Curtis Berry; also surviving are many well-loved cousins, co-workers, students, and friends.
