Harry D. Hardin Sr. (1936 – 2025)

Harry D. Hardin Sr, Brodnax, VA, formally of Cumberland, MD, age 89, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

He was born in Cumberland, MD, on September 21, 1936, to Edgar & Elsie Hardin Sr.

Mr. Hardin was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was a contractor for the United States Government & was a real estate agent before retiring.  He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming.

Harry is survived by one brother, Charles (Patsy) Hardin of Arkansas; three daughters, Jacquine (Terry) Schmiedeknecht, Marie Buffmire of Virginia, Helen (Tim) Resh, of West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Devlin (Ryan), Alyssa “Jamie” LaGrange, Delaney LaGrange, Thomas (Kristen) Clark Jr. of Virginia, Michael Crowe of West Virgina, Joseph (Brooke) Burnett, and Jon Burnett of Maryland; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Hedges-Hardin; his parents; brother, Edgar Hardin Jr.; sisters, Mary Getz, Elsie Diehl, and Doris Norris; sons, Harry Hardin Jr, Robert Hudson, and Michael Hudson; and his daughter, Jennifer LaGrange.

A private graveside service will be held for Mr. Hardin in Maryland.  In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Brunswick County Animal Shelter, Lawrenceville, VA.
