Jennifer Lee “Jenni” Groom, 64, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at her home.

Jennifer Lee “Jenni” Groom

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Jenni was born on October 2, 1961, in Alexandria, Virginia, to the late Bernard and Yvonne Thompson Hansen.  She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Stephen Hansen, Joseph Hansen, and Michael Hansen, and a niece, Teresa Hansen Burke.  She worked at Skyline Caverns for over 25 years.  Following her time there, she worked at Home Depot, where she retired after a long career.

She was the kind of woman who was always there when you needed her, asking nothing in return. A devoted mother and grandmother, she poured her heart into her family and found joy in creating beautiful things with her hands. Her love was quiet, steady, and unconditional — the kind you do not fully understand until it is gone. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched

Survivors include her daughter, Karla Gochenour; grandson and pride and joy, Ethan Patterson; twin brother, Jeffrey Hansen (Mary); three sisters, Cynthia Plauger, Rebecca Hansen, and Pamela Coates; uncle, John Thompson (Barbara), and nine nieces and nephews, Heidi, Sara, Stevie, Renee, Chris, Victoria, Jennifer, Megan, and Joshua.
