Marvin Willard Gordon (1940 – 2025)

Marvin Willard Gordon, 85, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, in the comfort of his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Fairview Covenant Brethren Church at 1101 Fairview Church Road, Oakland, Maryland 21550, with Pastors Ronald Gordon and Sam Moon officiating. The family invites guests to visit with them from 1 p.m. onward before the service. Following all services, the burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery.

Marvin was born on January 7, 1940, in Washington, D.C., to the late Lemon William and May Loretta Cosner Gordon. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Ray Gordon, Keith Gordon, and Dorothea Metheny.

Surviving Marvin is his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia Gordon; his daughters, Jeannette McIlwee (Dean), Brenda Sperry (Chuck), and Angie Gordon; his siblings, Ronnie Gordon, Sue Fazenbaker, June Cooper, Duane Gordon, and Eddie Gordon; his grandchildren, Chuckie, Jaclyn, Justin, Levi, Matthew, Emily, and Matt; his 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marvin was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church in Front Royal, Virginia, and became a Free Mason at the Colonial Beach Masonic Lodge #199. He was a mechanic and service manager at various dealerships for many years; he then became a construction foreman in Colonial Beach and built many homes himself. Following his retirement, he was a carpenter in Colonial Beach. His love of boating and fishing began at the Shenandoah River and grew stronger at Colonial Beach. He was proud to have accomplished a solo flight at the Front Royal airport after receiving his certifications.

Pallbearers will be Chuckie Sperry, Justin Sperry, Matthew Sperry, Levi Cameron, Matt McIlwee, and Reese Sperry.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Alex Fauver, Garrett Fauver, Bailey Sperry, and Keith Pearson.

Those wishing to send flowers, please have them delivered directly to the church on Wednesday before the service time.
