Michael Allen Hansen, of Stephens City, VA, passed away on December 20, 2025, in Limeton, VA.

Michael Allen Hansen

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in the Emerson Walters Cemetery in Fort Valley.

Michael was born on September 21, 1959, in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, to the late Bernard and Yvonne Hansen.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Judith Bowen-Hansen, and his greatest pride and joy, his son, Joshua Hansen, who could nearly always be found by his side. Their bond was unmistakable and defined much of Michael’s life and happiness. He is also survived by his sisters, Pamela Coates, Rebecca Hansen, Cynthia Plauger (Charlie), and Jennifer Groom; his brother, Jeffrey Hansen (Mary); his uncle, John Thompson (Barbara); and many nieces and nephews who will miss his warmth, humor, and generosity.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph and Stephen Hansen; and his nieces, Teresa Hansen Burke and Christine Carter.

Mike was a man of many talents. He had a remarkable ability to fix almost anything and generously helped others with his skills. An excellent cook, Mike showed his affection for his family through the dishes he made with care and love. He was also an extraordinary storyteller, entertaining listeners with tales that reflected his humor, charm, and keen observations of life.

Mike found deep joy in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and treasured his bi-annual family trips to Nags Head, which created memories his family will long cherish. Michael will be remembered for his steadfast love for his family, his capable hands, and his generous spirit. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers will be Lee Wood, Doug Rutz, David Fristoe, Stevie Henry, Mason Hullihen, and Zipper Snipes.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 26, from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
