Paul Eugene Mathews Sr., 86, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in the comfort of his home.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia 22630, with Sammy Campbell officiating. The family invites guests to visit with them one hour before the service. Following all services, his burial will take place at Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Paul was born on August 18, 1939, in Bentonville, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Marie Baugher Mathews, and his sisters, Lillie Evans of Louisiana and Sissy of Maryland.

Surviving Paul are his son, Paul Eugene Mathews Jr.; his daughter, Debra Mathews Fouchy; his daughter-in-law, Linda Mathews; his son-in-law, Tom Fouchy; his 3 grandchildren, and his 6 great-grandchildren.

Paul loved and enjoyed his farm, where he especially enjoyed taking care of his cows and cats.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
