Shelbert Jean Jenkins, 74, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Shelbert Jean Jenkins

Born on December 16, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Guy Cameron and Ida Francis Cameron.

Shelbert was deeply loved and cherished by all who knew her. She found great joy in spending time with her family and friends and had a passion for arts and crafts, which she shared generously with those around her. Her warmth, creativity, and caring spirit will be missed more than words can express.

She is survived by her children: Dawn Morris (Chris), David McCleary, and Matthew McCleary (Samantha); her grandchildren: Christopher Morris Jr., Kaitlyn Taylor (Connor), Kolby McCleary, and Serenity Jenkins; and her great-grandchildren: Logan, Emma, William Michael, and Madison.

Shelbert also leaves behind her siblings: Melvin “Sonny” Cameron, Mike Cameron (Brenda), Patricia Aliff (Wayne), and Lisa Welsh (Gary); as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary McCleary, her sister Judy Bartlett, and her brother Roger Cameron.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, in gratitude for the care and comfort they provided.
