Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign Returns to Front Royal for the Holidays

Published

on

The Salvation Army Front Royal Corps is ringing in the holiday season with its annual Red Kettle Campaign, starting Saturday, November 23. Known for its iconic red kettles and cheerful bell ringers, the campaign is a beloved tradition that brings the community together to help those in need.

Funds raised through the campaign support vital services for local families in Warren, Page, and Rappahannock counties, as well as the city of Strasburg. Each year, the Front Royal Corps provides assistance to more than a thousand families, offering help with rent, utilities, clothing, food, and hygiene items.

How You Can Help

The success of the Red Kettle Campaign relies on the community’s generosity and involvement. Local organizations are encouraged to “adopt” days to ring the bell, engaging in friendly competition for bragging rights. Individuals also play a crucial role, filling gaps in the schedule by volunteering as bell ringers.

For those who prefer to participate virtually, the campaign offers a digital option through RegisterToRing.com. This platform allows volunteers to sign up as “virtual” bell ringers and host online fundraisers to rally support from friends and family.

Bell ringers will be stationed outside local businesses, including Wal-Marts in Warren and Page Counties, Big Lots, and Royal Plaza Shopping Center. Volunteers will ring bells from Monday through Saturday, from November 23 through Christmas Eve.

Giving Made Easier

Understanding that many people no longer carry cash, the Salvation Army has introduced cashless donation options. Gifts can be made at kettles using Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or Venmo, making it easy for everyone to contribute.

Join the Tradition

Major Sheed Tarnue of the Salvation Army Front Royal Corps invites everyone to get involved. “The Red Kettle Campaign is a chance for us to come together as a community to help our neighbors in need,” he said. “Every donation makes a difference, and every bell ringer plays a vital role.”

To sign up as a bell ringer or register a group, visit RegisterToRing.com. For more information about the campaign or the Salvation Army’s work, contact Major Tarnue at 540-635-4020.
