Children Activities by Samuels Public Library for the Month of April

These are the events being presented by the Youth Services Department at Samuels Public Library during the month of April 2025.  More information about Samuels Library and the programs and services available can be found at www.samuelslibrary.net or by calling (540) 635-3153.


Tuesday, April 1

  • 10:30 AM –Wind Power: Homeschool Hub. For ages 6-11. What does a car need to move?  What will it look like?  Children will design a car and test it, using wind power. Registration is required.

Wednesday & Thursday, April 2 & 3

  • 10:15AM – Toddler Story Time.  Bring your toddler to a potpourri of simple stories, fun songs, and a cute craft on Spring. Siblings welcome. Registration is required.
  • 11:00AM – Preschool Story Time.  Come in for an enjoyable hour filled with Spring stories, exciting sing-alongs, finger plays, and a nifty craft. Registration is required.

Saturday, April 5

  • 9:00 AM – Easter in the Park.  Join us with Warren County Parks & Rec, Hike Kidz, ARC of Warren County, as we listen to bunny stories, do a craft, face painting, and fairy hair, and hunt for Easter Eggs!  There will be a visit from the Easter Bunny too!
  • 2:30 PM – Press Play.  For ages 12-18.  Join us for an afternoon of playing Nintendo Switch games.  Registration is required.

Monday, April 7 – due to public demand, we are splitting the Music & Movement class into 2 groups

  • 10:15 AM – Music & Movement for Babies (ages 0-23 months).
  • 11:15 AM – Music & Movement for Toddlers (ages 2-5).  Join our fun and joyful time with your little ones as we listen to music while learning some basic movements and multisensory activities designed to delight your baby or toddler. Registration is required.

Tuesday, April 8

  • 4:00 PM – Floating “M”: Science Scouts. For ages 6-11.  The theme this week is the solubility of the colors on candy and floating the “m” off an M&M candy.  Can we pick it up? Registration is required.

Wednesday & Thursday, April 9 & 10

  • 10:15AM – Toddler Story Time.  Bring your toddler to a potpourri of simple stories, fun songs, and a cute craft on Frogs. Siblings welcome. Registration is required.
  • 11:00AM – Preschool Story Time.  Come in for an enjoyable hour filled with Frog stories, exciting sing-alongs, finger plays, and a nifty craft. Registration is required.

Monday, April 14 due to public demand, we are splitting the Music & Movement class into 2 groups

  • 10:15 AM – Music & Movement for Babies (ages 0-23 months).
  • 11:15 AM – Music & Movement for Toddlers (ages 2-5).  Join our fun and joyful time with your little ones as we listen to music while learning some basic movements and multisensory activities designed to delight your baby or toddler. Registration is required.

Thursday, April 17

  • 5:30 PM – Toddler Tantrums: Healthy Families Northern Shenandoah Valley.  We are going to talk about how to help our children work through different emotions, and how to support each other as parents. They will be giving a free children’s emotions book and calming mat for each family that attends. Come for pizza and learning. Registration is required.

Saturday, April 19

  • 2:30 PM – Peeps Décor: Teens Connect.  For ages 12-18. Create a diorama for your favorite book or movie, using “peeps” as the characters.  Registration is required.

Monday, April 21 due to public demand, we are splitting the Music & Movement class into 2 groups

Saturday, April 26

  • All Day – The library will be closed for our Annual Taste For Books Fundraiser.

Tuesday, April 29

  • 4:00 PM – Wind Power: Science Scouts. For ages 6-11.  This week’s theme is lifting items using a windmill we create. Registration is required.

 Wednesday & Thursday, April 30 & May1

  • 10:15AM – Toddler Story Time.  Bring your toddler to a potpourri of simple stories, fun songs, and a cute craft on Ladybugs. Siblings welcome. Registration is required.
  • 11:00AM – Preschool Story Time.  Come in for an enjoyable hour filled with Ladybug stories, exciting sing-alongs, finger plays, and a nifty craft. Registration is required.
