Brickhouse Bar & Grill Hosts Sensory-Friendly Celebration for National Autism Acceptance Day

Published

on

In a heartwarming show of support for the neurodivergent community, Brickhouse Bar & Grill will host its first-ever Sensory-Friendly Celebration in honor of National Autism Acceptance Day on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public and will take place at 231 Chester Street, Front Royal.

Designed with neurodivergent individuals and their families in mind, the evening aims to create a welcoming, inclusive space that celebrates autism awareness, acceptance, and community connection. Guests of all ages can enjoy a relaxing meal while children engage with sensory bins, a painting station, playdough, and interactive sensory toys in a supportive environment tailored to their needs.

“This is about acceptance and awareness,” said Toby Brown, General Manager of Brickhouse Bar & Grill and a father of a child with autism. “Many don’t know ABA therapy is available in Front Royal—you no longer have to travel for help. Brickhouse is for everyone, from kids to adults, offering a variety of programs for all needs. As a dad, it’s incredible to have a place where my son’s uniqueness is celebrated, not seen as a burden. There’s nowhere else around that truly embraces people on the spectrum, and we at Brickhouse are excited to be the first and look forward to more gatherings like this.”

The event also serves as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of sensory-friendly spaces and the value of neurodiversity in our community. With dimmed lighting, reduced noise, and calm spaces, the celebration has been carefully planned to make all guests feel comfortable and at ease.

The team at Brickhouse hopes the April 2 gathering will be the first of many. “We want to make Brickhouse a place where everyone belongs,” Brown added.

Whether you’re part of the neurodivergent community or simply want to show support, the Sensory-Friendly Celebration promises to be an uplifting, educational, and fun evening for all.
