Shirley Temple Beaty (1936 – 2024)

Shirley was born July 13, 1936, in Strasburg, Virginia, the daughter of the late Louie A. Lam, Sr., and Pauline Orndorff Lam.

She worked many years as a seamstress and received her cosmetician license in her late 50s. She was a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1194 in Front Royal.

Her loving family and friends will greatly miss her.

Surviving is her loving and devoted husband of 17 years, Jack Beaty; son, Kenneth Rutherford of Front Royal; three daughters, Cathy Poe and husband Tom of Browntown, Karen Fisher and husband Tyler of Front Royal and Shasta Redmon and fiancé Brent of Inwood, West Virginia; one brother, Dougie Lam of Louisa; two sisters, Joann White of Stephens City and Paula Troxell of Strasburg; five grandchildren, Amanda, and husband Ryan, Ryan, and wife Jessica, Taylor and husband “Sweet Pea”, Brandy, Boo and Lil Tyler; and two great-grandchildren, Taya and Rhett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Keith Rutherford; sister, Gloria Middleton; and three brothers, Jerry Lam, Kenneth Lam, and Louie A. Lam, Jr.

Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601, or the Humane Society of Warren County, 1245 Progress Drive, Front Royal, Virginia 22630.
