Two Separate Shooting Incidents Reported Overnight in Winchester

The Winchester Police Department (WPD) is investigating two separate and unrelated shootings that occurred late Monday night and into early Tuesday morning, leaving one person injured and a neighborhood shaken.

The first incident took place at approximately 8:20 p.m. on July 29, when police responded to a report of shots fired into a vehicle at the Sheetz gas station on Millwood Avenue.

As officers responded, they discovered a vehicle crash about a mile away at the intersection of Woodstock Lane and North Pleasant Valley Road. Inside the crashed vehicle, officers found a male driver suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and a passenger who was uninjured. The driver was taken to Winchester Medical Center and is currently listed in stable condition.

Wanted suspect, Hausaun Salem Amen Richardson.

According to police, the suspects were last seen fleeing the scene in a 2019 silver Honda CR-V. One of the suspects has been identified as Hausaun Salem Amen Richardson of Hagerstown, Md. A second suspect remains unidentified. WPD confirmed that it is working alongside regional law enforcement partners and federal task forces to locate and identify both suspects.

Later the same night, at approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 30, officers responded to a second report of shots fired, this time at a home located at 1731 Valley Avenue. No injuries were reported in this incident, but officers found gunfire damage to the residence. WPD confirmed that this is the second time in four months that shots have been reported at this address.
