The Warren Coalition threw a little surprise party luncheon for former town councilman and local Edward Jones investment counselor Bret Hrbek Thursday afternoon at Houlihan’s Restaurant on the county’s northside.

Hrbek was acknowledged for ongoing contributions to Warren Coalition fundraising efforts on behalf of public education.  Coalition Career and College Coordinator Teri Bartnicki was lavish in her praise of Hrbek to a small group of friends and family.  Prior to the unsuspecting Hrbek’s arrival we asked Bartnicki about Hrbek’s efforts.

“Bret Hrbek has over 11 years raised $50,000 for high school students attending the dual enrollment programs and attending the career and vocational training – nursing, welding, engineering, construction; and also raises money for the Warren County High School Cross Country teams to go on away meets, for travel bags and the award ceremonies,” Bartnicki said.

With that long-term track record of effort on behalf of county students it seems appropriate Hrbek’s team of choice is cross country.

Way to go, Bret – and nice plaque of appreciation there, Ms. Bartnicki.

That’s a mighty fine looking plaque of appreciation there, Bret – and word is you deserve it.
