Warren County Fire and Rescue to Host Town Hall for Public Input on 2025 Department Study

Published

on

Warren County residents will have the opportunity to shape the future of local emergency services at a public Town Hall meeting hosted by the Department of Fire and Rescue Services on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room of the Warren County Public Safety Building at 200 Skyline Vista Drive in Front Royal.

This event is part of the department’s 2025 Fire and Rescue Study, an in-depth review of its current operations, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Conducted by the Matrix Consulting Group, the study aims to compare the department’s emergency response capabilities to national standards, while also gathering direct input from the community.

Fire Chief James Bonzano emphasized the importance of local voices in the study process. “Our goal is to foster transparent communication and gather essential input from those we serve,” he said. “We value the community’s perspectives and believe that collaborative efforts are key to building a safer and more resilient Warren County.”

During the meeting, consultants from Matrix Consulting Group will present an overview of the department’s current performance, response times, and operational practices. Attendees will also have the chance to voice their ideas, ask questions, and offer feedback on emergency response, fire protection, and EMS services.

The study, which began earlier this year, will help county officials and emergency service leaders assess the strengths and limitations of the current system. With the growing needs of both Warren County and the Town of Front Royal, the department is looking for ways to improve efficiency, enhance safety, and better serve the public.

Assistant Fire Chief Gerry Maiatico is helping coordinate the event and encourages all members of the public to attend. “We want to hear from homeowners, business owners, volunteers, and anyone with a stake in public safety,” he said. “Whether you have suggestions, concerns, or simply want to learn more, this is your opportunity to be heard.”

The Department of Fire and Rescue Services provides fire protection, emergency medical response, and community safety education throughout the county. It operates with a combination of career and volunteer personnel and continues to evolve in response to new challenges and public expectations.

This Town Hall is one of several public engagement opportunities planned as part of the 2025 study. Findings and recommendations developed from the study will guide strategic planning for years to come.
