Published

on

On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation regarding the distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in the Linden area of Warren County. Warren County Sheriff’s Office received more than 50+ online cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding several different online accounts sharing elicit material involving pubescent and pre-pubescent minors. While actively working on this case, additional cyber tips were received monthly. During this investigation, the accounts were linked with the same offender using various online platforms and programs. This activity was an attempt to conceal the identity of the perpetrator.

Christopher J. Martin, a 27-year-old male from Linden, Virginia.

Through the course of this investigation, several legal processes were completed over a 7-month period. After obtaining and analyzing the information, the investigative team positively identified the offender as Christopher J. Martin, a 27-year-old male from Linden, Virginia. On March 22, 2024, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Team executed a search warrant in the 4000 block of Freezeland Road, Linden, VA 22642. Mr. Martin was subsequently taken into custody. Mr. Martin was transported to the Rappahannock Shenandoah Warren (RSW) Regional Jail without incident. Following his arrest, Mr. Martin appeared before a magistrate and was ordered to be held in custody without the possibility of bond. The court date for the listed offenses has been set for April 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is an active member of the Northern Virginia/DC Metro (NOVA/DC) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, coordinated by the Virginia State Police. We request anyone with information regarding the possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation, and/or facilitation of any child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with further information regarding this case, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Investigator C.J. McDaniel at (540) 635-7100 or via email at cmcdaniel@warrencountysheriff.org.
