Chelsea Academy Announces Summer Sports, Academic, and Activity Camps

Chelsea Academy is inviting students to stay active, creative, and engaged this summer with a full schedule of sports, academic, and activity camps.

The school is offering camps in basketball, soccer, volleyball, art, math, college preparation, aeronautics, home economics, fairytales, and more. Camps begin in late June and continue through July, with options for young children, elementary students, middle schoolers, high school students, and even adults.

Sports camps include boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ soccer, co-ed Mini Champs basketball and soccer, and volleyball. Sessions will be held in the Chelsea Academy gym and on the school’s upper and lower sports fields. The sports schedule runs from June 29 through July 3, with a Boys Basketball Skills & Drills Camp for rising fourth- through eighth-grade students. The camp runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the gym and costs $100. Also, June 29 through July 3, a Middle School Boys Soccer Camp for rising fourth- through seventh-grade students will meet from 5 to 7 p.m. on the upper sports field. The cost is $100.

Additional sports camps include High School Boys Soccer from July 6 through 10, Lower School/Middle School Girls Soccer from July 6 through 10, Mini Champs Co-ed Volleyball from July 13 through 16, Girls Basketball from July 20 through 24, and several camps during the final week of July, including Mini Champs Basketball, Mini Champs Soccer, High School Girls Soccer, and girls volleyball camps for lower school, middle school, and high school students.

Chelsea Academy is also offering a wide range of academic and activity camps. The academic and activity schedule runs from July 1 through 3, with “What Do You See? Sketching from Life” for rising fourth- through 12th-grade students. Led by Angela Dugas, the camp will help students practice artistic seeing and sketching. It meets from 9 a.m. to noon in the art studio and costs $105.

From July 6 through 9, younger campers can attend Knights & Princesses Fairytale Camp for rising pre-K through second-grade students. Led by Misty Schuttloffel, the camp combines classic fairytales, crafts, themed snacks, outdoor games, and lessons in courage, kindness, virtue, and faith. It runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon and costs $130.

High school students can take part in “Mural of Faith: Painting on Chelsea!” from July 6 through 10. Led by Angela Dugas, the camp invites rising ninth- through 12th-grade students to explore sacred art, Catholic symbolism, prayer, and design while creating a mural on an interior wall at Chelsea Academy. The camp meets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and costs $150.

Chelsea Academy will also offer Braids, Bows, and Beauty Hair Camp from July 6 through 9 for girls ages 8 to 15. Campers will learn haircare and styling basics, including brushing, sectioning, curling, braiding, and simple updos. The camp runs from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the cafeteria and costs $115.

Math Camp for rising third- through eighth-grade students will be offered July 13 through 17, July 20 through 24, and July 27 through 31. Led by Nancy Thomas, the camp uses the Horizons Math program and provides personalized instruction, games, and creative challenges. Sessions run from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Math Lab and cost $165.

Other academic and activity options include Faith in Flight: Aeronautics & Theology from July 13 through 16 for rising fourth- through eighth-grade students; College Prep Boot Camp from July 13 through 17 for rising juniors and seniors; Upper School & College Drawing Camp with Henry Wingate from July 13 through 17; Adult and Young Adult Drawing Camp during the evenings of July 13 through 17; and Home-Economics Crash Course from July 20 through 24 for rising ninth- through 12th-grade students.
