Joyce Ellen Meadows Powell (1947 – 2026)
Joyce Ellen Meadows Powell, 79, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in her Strasburg, Virginia, home, surrounded by her family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia. Following the service, the burial will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Surviving Joyce is her daughter, Kathleen Bloxom; her son-in-law, Trip Bloxom; her stepchildren, Darren Powell and Dina Alley; her grandchildren, William Bloxom, Rebekah Edge, Garrett Powell, Madeline Sudduth, and Joseph Lewis; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Carolyn Baumes; her niece, Kim Lane; and her nephew, Ronnie Baumes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Meadows; her brothers, Gary and Randy Meadows; and her beloved husband, Donald Wayne Powell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s honor to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
